I am not seeing anything written about that. I have gotten the bonus maybe 3-4 years ago (cancelled the card 2-3 years ago) and I am wondering if I can get the bonus again

Only AS credit card? Travel Voucher? I can’t of all the possible gotchas.

You both don’t know what you’re talking about!! You both should cancel your cards and don’t take up any of the space I might want to book companion fares for…. 🙂

It rarely works out to much savings as they jack up the flight prices for the one person paying. fees are really high.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE at Alaska airline. I booked a flight with the companion pass, then canceled because the flight is too expensive (over $1000 to go from SF to Orlando); the companion pass should come back within 2 days according to their manual, but it didn’t after 3 days. When I called about it & talked to the supervisor, she basically told me indirectly: Too bad for you, and there’s no way we can help you although it’s our fault & we’re not taking any responsibility for it; you just have to keep waiting, and why don’t you just hang up because you’re wasting everyone’s time by not doing so. Unblievable!!!

With customer service like that, I wouldn’t want to give this crappy airlines any real business. My family will probably fly with American Airlines to Orlando instead.

Me personally, I’d still go for it. The pros of having the card would outweigh any potential cons. Plus, I can probably count on one hand the number of times I’ve had to contact a credit card’s customer service line in the past few years.

You are correct on that. Unfortunately, Alaska partners only with BofA for their credit card. My issue is with there fraud security. It is extreme to the point of a pain to use. Even with online vendors that I use repeatedly they constantly block charges. When I call to complain, they don’t care and seem unable to fix the issue. If you travel, definitely don’t forget to go into your account and give them your travel plans, even if you booked your plane ticket to your destination with that card. The lack of knowing or learning you and your purchasing habits shows that the software written for their fraud is archaic. Then to top it off, 2AM I get recent charge alerts on my phone. This is a helpful option so you don’t have charges stopped but instead of going off as soon as you make the charge, it delays. American Express has a far better system to the point of not even having a trip report option on their website, no need.

I wonder if it’s worth the frustration?
