You list earning 50,000 bonus points to earn explorist. Does that mean that my new hyatt credit card will earn explorist once I do the spend and get awarded the 50,000 pts?

It’s the more generous rest of the calendar year, all of the following year, and two months into the following year.

Agree with everything you said here. On top of that, I was one of the the lucky Globalists who was given complimentary AA Executive Platinum status for a year. Already used that to upgrade our seats on two trips we had already booked.

Is it 365 days (or 12 months) from the day you achieve 60 nights? Or do they do a more generous rest-of-the-year and the following-year? I can’t find this information anywhere! 🙁

Wonderful stories, thanks for sharing 🙂 Sounds like you’ve got the process down pretty well and have been able to make great use of the program.

My Holiday’s are almost exclusively Caribbean stays. Hilton has removed the majority of club lounges @ their resorts and raised point stays to ridiculous levels. The Hilton Aruba is 80K per night all Winter, no lounge and they give you a $12.50 breakfast credit. Diamonds get the least desirable room in the resort on points. The Hyatt Regency Aruba is a flat 25K points, there is a nice lounge for breakfast & lite fare in the evening. They have a Heineken beer dispenser!!! I can use a suite upgrade for seven nights and it is not uncommon for a suite cash value over $1.5K per night. I’m staying in A.C. next week @ the Ocean Resort which is only 12K per night. I used a suite upgrade for 5 nights. Suites are incredible @ Ocean. I don’t know what the rate is for a suite during those dates cause they’re sold out but wouldn’t doubt over $1K per night. Your just not going to find these values @ other chains w/ their watered down status. Between my Wife and I we have Wyndham Diamond, IHG Spire, Hilton Diamond and Hyatt Globalist. There is no comparison, Hyatt wins. Stay @ a Hyatt Ziva or Zilara all-inclusive for 25K per night as a Globalist using a suite upgrade and you’ll agree w/ me.

what would you want or expect at a lower level hotel such as Hyatt Place? Already get free breakfast and most of the rooms are the same

Other blogs have written about the pros and cons of cancelling old Hyatt card or upgrading to newest World of Hyatt card. Would like to hear your take on it, thanks!
